Vienna Mummies - A long time ago in Italy which is a country in Europe, church people were put in special underground places after they died. These places were very dry and it caused their bodies to become mummified.

Between the late 16th and 18th centuries, members of the clergy and the laic elite were buried in catacombs and crypts of various churches in Vienna, Italy. Arid conditions there, together with adequate ventilation, resulted in spontaneous mummification of many of those buried.
